Two men have been charged with stealing from the wreckage of the Porsche Carrera GT that crashed and killed Paul Walker and could face up to four and a half years in jail if convicted.

Jameson Witty and Anthony Janow stand accused of taking parts from the wrecked Porsche Carrera GT which Fast and Furious star Paul and his business partner, Roger Rodas, crashed and died in on November 30.

Deputy District Attorney Sera Boyadjian, said both men face charges of one felony count of grand theft of personal property and two misdemeanour counts of destroying evidence and "resisting, obstructing and delaying a peace officer".

Prosecutors claim the men took a roof panel from the tow truck which was carrying the wrecked car after it stopped at a red light.

Prosecutors also say the men had been warned by a Los Angeles County Sheriff's deputy not to tamper with the crime scene.

If they are convicted, both Jameson and Anthony could face a maximum of four and a half years in jail.

After his alleged irresponsible behaviour, Jameson, 18, is said to have posted pictures of the stolen car part on Instagram.

This is the shocking footage of the two men attempting to steal parts from the Porsche which crashed and killed Paul Walker.

The video shows the pair of sick opportunists snatching pieces of the wreckage as the Carrera GT was being towed away after the horrific accident.

In amateur footage filmed from the scene a man can be heard furiously shouting expletives at the cold-hearted men as they flee with scraps of the car.

The Fast and Furious star was a passenger in the car when it  smashed into a tree and burst into flames.

The 38-year-old driver Roger Rodas - who was Paul’s business partner at a car customisation shop - was also killed.

A coroner has ruled the deaths on Saturday were an accident. A toxicology report, which could show if drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash, will be available in January.

Fans of the actor have been visiting a memorial at the crash scene in Santa Clarita, Los Angeles.
